Blue Moon Direct Printing started as New Image Printing in a small warehouse in Van Nuys, California in 1994. It began with two partners, Jeffery Nelson and Stacy Santiago. What began as a small shop with a one color AB Dick press soon grew, adding another 2 color press and bindery equipment. With a lot of blood, sweat, and long hours the clientele realized they could rely on this printer to get them what they needed, when they needed it, and with guaranteed quality that was unsurpassable.
The company continued to grow from there. They moved to Chatsworth, and continued to expand with new machinery and work crews, eventually adding mid and full size full color Akiyama and Heidelberg presses. As technology progressed, the growing company merged with a pre-production house and became totally state of the art. By the year 2005 there were 4 partners, including Stacy and Jeffery, 15 employees, 5 presses and a full bindery and pre-press department.
Printing is a hard industry and, in time, the partners became disinterested. Their growing lack of motivation began to slow the growth of the company Stacy still had her heart in.
In August 2014, on the day of the blue moon, Stacy made the decision to shut down the company as it was known and set her partners free to pursue their own interests. The employees and customers stayed loyal to her as she began her new endeavor as Blue Moon Direct Printing, Inc. She moved operations to Los Angeles, though she continued to work and service Santa Clarita, San Fernando and the surrounding valleys.
Stacy learned and fell in love with the printing industry in a time when people really cared about their printing. These are the standards Blue Moon Direct still adheres to today. We give each and every job the individual attention it deserves, no matter the size of the project.
